Meet Our Team

Sara began her career as a Dental Hygienist in 2010 and has worked at a wide variety of clinics as both a clinician and in practice management. She was so happy to be able to start working with Dr. Schaus in 2020. She is grateful to work with a team who shares her passion for education and preventative medicine, especially because she knows our mouth often give clues about larger overarching health conditions. Sara works with Dr. Schaus as a Licensed Dental Hygienist, dental assistant, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist, and occasionally at the front desk. This variety allows her to be involved in each step of a patient’s dental health journey! She loves getting to know her patients and tries her best to make each visit as comfortable as possible.

When Sara isn’t hard at work, you’ll likely find her off in the woods somewhere – running with her shepherd, Loma, riding her horse, Onyx, hiking, camping or competitively cycling (gravel, mountain, cyclocross and fat!). Sara grew up on a dairy farm in central Wisconsin, but she has been a Minnesota resident for the last 10 years and loves her cute, historic home in South Minneapolis.

Originally from western North Dakota, Amy obtained her Associate of Dental Hygiene degree in 2000. She furthered her education at Metropolitan State University obtaining her BSDH in Dental Hygiene in 2017.

Amy has over 22 years of clinical experience caring for patients. In 2020, she joined the excellent team at Schaus Dental Studio to practice dental hygiene and also some assisting duties. She strives to create a comfortable experience for all of her patients.

In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband Matt and two cats, Bentley and Wally. She loves going up to the cabin to relax and entertain family and friends. She also loves tending to her flower gardens.
